2011 Rolls-Royce Phantom Review And Pic-Images &Wallpaers

Review:

The Rolls-Royce Phantom is the British ultra-luxury brand's premium motorcar. It's available in sedan, long-wheelbase sedan, Phantom Coupe, and Phantom Drophead Coupe forms.

Developed in part with parent company BMW's expertise, the space-frame Phantom cars are powered by Rolls' own 453-horsepower version of the BMW corporate V-12, teamed with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive, as well as an independent suspension.

Changes for the 2011 model year are minor on most versions. Essentially, only the seats have changed, though Rolls-Royce now offers new interior colors and trim.

On the Phantom Drophead, suspension and powertrain changes give it a driving feel more akin to that of the Coupe, Rolls-Royce says. The new suspension tuning revises the settings on the Phantom's air springs, increases the diameter of the anti-roll bars, and boosts steering response. A thicker-rimmed steering wheel is fitted as well.

Also, Rolls-Royce has removed the two-stage braking system on the Drophead, leaving it with the more natural brake feel of the Coupe. Finally, the transmission on the Drophead now has an "S" mode for a more sporting feel.

Pricing for the Phantom lineup begins at $385,000, including $5000 in gas-guzzler and destination charges. The extended-wheelbase sedan begins at $455,000; the Coupe at $413,000; and finally, the Drophead drops jaws with a sticker price of $452,000.
